We developed the PowerMon-5S device because we wanted an affordable, high-tech solution that people can use to monitor electrical systems. PowerMon-5S can be used in RVs, campers, boats, solar systems, off-grid systems, or really anywhere you have a battery that you want to monitor.
PowerMon-5S is a Bluetooth Low Energy device that measures voltage up to 32V, current up to 500A using an integrated shunt and temperature. It then calculates power (W), energy (Wh), charge (Ah), battery state-of-charge (SoC %), and estimated time left on the battery. PowerMon-5S keeps track of various statistics: minimum and maximum voltage, current, temperature, battery SoC, the total charged Ah, total discharged Ah, and much more.
It doesn't stop here! PowerMon-5S can drive an external relay (or SSR - Solid State Relay). You can use PowerMon-5S as a low voltage disconnect, high voltage disconnect, over-current disconnect, temperature controller, as a timer device, as a remote ON/OFF switch, or for automatic generator control.
A very important feature of PowerMon-5S is that it logs the data for up to 3 years in internal memory (as opposed to other similar products on the market). This means that you don't need to have a mobile device permanently connected to the battery monitor. Whenever you connect to PowerMon-5S, the mobile app will download the data logs from the device.
Using the PowerMon app or the newer PowerMonX app you can view the measured data in real-time, the statistics, download the log data and visualize it as a chart, configure the device or even update the firmware in the device when new versions become available.
The small form factor and ease of installation make PowerMon-5S ideal for quickly adding smarts to any existing electrical system. Bluetooth frees you from the need to wire your RV, camper, or boat.
